Hamilton Watch Company – with a rich history and known for its quality timepieces and innovative designs! Hamilton is a renowned American watchmaker founded in 1892 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

Hamilton initially specialized in pocket watches and made significant strides in the industry with their accurate and reliable timepieces. During World War I, Hamilton Watch Company was chosen as one of the major suppliers of timepieces for the U.S. military.

"Shortly before WWII, rose gold became very fashionable, just as it is today. (...) Several watch manufacturers introduced rose gold models and Hamilton was no exception. There are solid rose gold as well as gold filled wrist watch and pocket watch models starting in 1940 and continuing into 1941. There are ladies’ examples too. The war cut the trend short though, and rose gold (or coral gold, in Hamilton parlance) was not reintroduced after the war."
 
Only produced for one year, one of Hamilton’s rose gold filled wristwatch model was the Coral Martin, only 6,111 pieces made in 1941.

It is not easy to find, but today we are offering this immaculate and UNIQUE timepiece!
 
It is a vintage Hamilton Coral Martin wristwatch; the movement serial number indicates that this watch is dated from 1941 – the only year that this model (in rose gold filled) was produced.
 
It is a manual wind watch with an original Hamilton movement, 6/0 sized, 17 jewels, caliber grade 987A, sub second, U.S.A. made.
 
After 75 years, it still has the immaculate 27 x 27mm rose gold square/tonneau shape case and fancy lugs design, all in 10K gold filled. It comes with a new-old-stock black Genuine Lizard Made in Italy two-pieces strap.
 
It has the unique characteristic of this watch model, the salmon-colored dial with applied rhodium-plated 18K gold Arabic Numerals and matching hands. Bold minute marks and the sub second is located at 6 o’clock. The dial is also signed with the Hamilton name.

This watch is still in LOVELY condition! Runs very well, keeps great time!

Vintage watches are traditionally smaller than today's watches. Men’s watches typically measure between 29-36mm wide (some larger, some smaller) excluding the crown. We prefer to shoot photographs outside when weather is permitting. However, when we shoot indoors, please be aware that we shoot our photographs inside of lightboxes that are lit with 360 LED bulbs. This indeed magnifies any flaws. Usually, they are much less obvious to the naked eye. Having said that, we never photoshop any of our photography, remove blemishes, etc. We adjust lighting when necessary, but what you see is what you are getting, and we take pride in that.
