+PANERAI
Panerai was founded in 1860 by Giovanni Panerai in Florence, Italy, as the city’s first watchmaking shop, workshop, and school. By the early 20th century, it became known for its precision instruments, especially after becoming the official supplier to the Royal Italian Navy.
In 1936, Panerai created the Radiomir, a watch designed for underwater military missions, featuring a luminous dial for readability in low light. The Luminor model followed, known for its distinctive crown-protecting bridge. These timepieces were developed as essential tools for Italian Navy commandos.
In 1997, Panerai was acquired by the Richemont Group and transitioned from a military supplier to a luxury watch brand, producing Swiss-made timepieces that reflect its Italian heritage and history of innovation. Today, Panerai is celebrated for its unique blend of Italian design and Swiss watchmaking expertise, with iconic models that maintain strong links to its naval origins.
FERRARI ENGINEERED by Officine Panerai
The partnership between Panerai and Ferrari began in 2005 when the two iconic Italian brands collaborated to create a line of luxury sports watches. This collaboration resulted in the Ferrari Engineered by Officine Panerai collection, which combined Panerai’s watchmaking expertise with Ferrari’s design aesthetics and racing heritage.
The collection featured two main lines: the Granturismo, inspired by Ferrari’s luxury sports cars, and the Scuderia, reflecting the brand’s racing legacy. Each watch was designed to capture the essence of Ferrari, with details that echoed elements of the cars, such as the prancing horse logo on the dial.
The partnership concluded in 2010, and Panerai subsequently discontinued the Ferrari-themed watch line. Despite its limited run, this collaboration remains a notable chapter in Panerai's history, symbolizing a fusion of Italian craftsmanship, innovation, and design excellence.
"A watch with a Ferrari logo on the dial needs necessarily to reflect a unique excellence. For this reason Panerai represents for Ferrari a precious Italian known-how in terms of technological skills and creativity in watchmaking."

Vintage watches are traditionally smaller than today's watches. Men’s watches typically measure between 29-36mm wide (some larger, some smaller) excluding the crown. In the listing details we typically try to do our best to list all pertinent dimensions of a watch. If you don't see it, or we failed to do so, please reach out to us. Women’s watches from the 1900s-1970s were also much smaller than today's offerings. Please also feel free to ask any questions you have pertaining to size.
We prefer to shoot photographs outside when weather is permitting. However, when we shoot indoors, please be aware that we shoot our photographs inside of lightboxes that are lit with 360 LED bulbs. This indeed magnifies any flaws. Usually, they are much less obvious to the naked eye. Having said that, we never photoshop any of our photography, remove blemishes, etc. We adjust the lighting, when necessary, but what you see is what you are getting, and we take pride in that.
The condition is pre-owned.
